Acquired by the Ulster Museum in 2011 as part of their permanent craft collection, the original Esker Tallboy features in the exhibition Crafted: The Fine Art of Furniture until 4th June 2017. The exhibition explores the change of style, material and functionality of furniture from the 18th century to the present day.
This tallboy in bleached oak with seven drawers which open with a push catch mechanism. The entire carcass along with the drawer fronts feature an alluring and tactile, hand carved ridge detail which flows and meanders its way around the piece.
